MegaFon has built new 4G communication facilities for suburban and holiday villages located in the Pskov region, not far from the regional center. High Internet speeds, even with a seasonal increase in load, became available for the first time in SNT Ozernoye, Medic-2, Keb, as well as in the villages of Azhovo and Novoselye.
The company’s engineers built and improved about ten communication facilities operating in high-frequency bands, which made it possible to significantly increase data transfer rates. Now several thousand residents of the region can use Internet access in nature at higher LTE speeds.
“We are constantly studying the dynamics of data transfer rates, infrastructure load and other parameters in order to improve the network where necessary. For example, in just one month, summer residents of SNT “Keb” and “Azhovo” downloaded about a thousand gigabytes and talked for almost 40 thousand minutes, communicating with friends, relatives and using entertainment and information services. Also, the presence of communication outside the city ensures safety and allows you to respond in a timely manner to various situations, especially in case of emergency or the need to call an ambulance, ”comments Alexander Dolgikh, Director of MegaFon in the Pskov Region.
The past modernization is a continuation of one of the key areas of the operator’s work to improve the quality of coverage in small towns. In 2023 alone, MegaFon upgraded and built about 20 base stations in the villages and villages of the region, where more than 27.5 thousand people live.
