Russian scientists have replaced quantum watches for navigation and communication with imports – analogues of this device are produced abroad by single companies, RIA Novosti reports with reference to Stanislav Gusev, head of the Center for the Development and Implementation of Advanced Technologies of VNIIFTRI Rosstandart .
“We took the scientific achievements of the departments of our institute, on their basis a device was made and is now being introduced into a series, this is a small generator, it will be used as an electronic component base that produces a very high-precision periodic signal,” Gusev said.
According to him, the scope of this device is navigation and secure communications. It is difficult to imagine the operation of modern GLONASS and GPS systems without quantum (in other words, atomic) clocks. At the moment, quantum watches are not officially sold to Russia , and deliveries are made indirectly, while the price of the goods increases five times compared to the market.
VNIIFTRI scientists estimate the sample they created at 500,000 rubles, but they plan to launch mass production and reduce the price to 200,000 rubles.
Earlier in Russia, a robot for chest compressions was imported .
Previously, scientists have created new batteries for miniature robots.
