China launches Shenzhou-16 manned spacecraft

China launched the Shenzhou-16 manned spacecraft. It is reported by RIA Novosti .

The spacecraft, with a crew of three, lifted off at 09:31 Beijing time (04:31 Moscow time) from the Jiuquan Cosmodrome in northwest China’s Gansu Province. Shenzhou-16 will take the crew to the Tiangong orbital station, which is located at an altitude of about 400 kilometers. The base module of the station was launched on April 29, 2021.

The crew of the ship included taikonauts Jing Haipeng (crew commander), Zhu Yanzhu and Gui Haichao.

In November 2022, China Central Television reported that China had launched the Shenzhou-15 manned spacecraft to the Tiangong station. The ship delivered three cosmonauts into orbit, who replaced the team delivered on the Shenzhou-14 spacecraft.
