Serie A top scorer could have lost an eye

Professor Tartaro says Napoli forward Osimhen could have lost an eye

Professor Gianpaolo Tartaro spoke about the injury of Napoli forward and Nigerian national team Victor Osimhen, after which the player began to wear a mask.

The 24-year-old striker suffered a severe facial injury after colliding with Inter Milan defender Milan Skriniar in November 2022. Osimhen had six plates and 18 screws inserted.

“Fortunately, the eye has returned to its orbit. Osimhen could have lost an eye. The plates do not need to be removed unless something happens, such as an infection. I don’t think he wants to take them off. When we performed the operation, we used the best plates in the world. He is protected if he is hit on the head,” the professor said in an interview with Radio CRC.

This season, the African footballer has played 20 matches for Napoli in the Italian championship , in which he scored 19 goals and four assists. Osimhen is the tournament’s top scorer.

Napoli, after 24 rounds, scored 65 points and confidently leads the league table. Second-placed Inter are 18 points behind.

Earlier it was reported that the midfielder of Napoli and the Georgian national team Khvicha Kvaratskhelia took the seventh place in the list of favorites for the Golden Ball prize in 2023 according to the Goal portal.
