Russia has extended for a year the deadline for the start of repayment by Belarus of a loan for the construction of the BelNPP. Interfax writes about this with reference to the relevant order of the government of the Russian Federation . It is posted on the official Internet portal of legal information.

According to the new version of the document, “the loan is used by the Belarusian side in 2011-2023”, and “repayment by the Belarusian side of the loan begins 6 months from the date of commissioning of the nuclear power plant, but no later than April 1, 2024.” It will be paid in 30 equal installments every 6 months.

Earlier, the Ministry of Energy of Belarus reported that, together with the Russian side, a cooperation plan was being developed to train personnel for nuclear energy. At a meeting of representatives of the Ministry of Energy with experts from the technical and corporate academies of Rosatom and the Rosenergoatom concern, the prospects for partnership in the areas of personnel support for the operation of the BelNPP and training for the field of radioactive waste management were discussed.
