Russian cosmonauts will go into outer space in April-May 2023

Director General of Roscosmos Yuri Borisov said that the next time Russian cosmonauts will leave in April-May 2023. It is reported by RIA Novosti .

He stressed that the scientific program will continue.

“In April-May, there will be a spacewalk to equip the Nauka module,” Borisov said at the  Mission Control Center after the Soyuz MS-23 spacecraft docked with the ISS.

The previous spacewalk under the Russian program took place in November 2022.

Cosmonauts Sergei Prokopiev and Dmitry Petelin were supposed to work four more times outside the station after this exit, but this had to be postponed due to depressurization of the cooling system of their spacecraft.

On February 26, the Soyuz MS-23 spacecraft, which is supposed to return cosmonauts to Earth instead of the damaged Soyuz MS-22, docked with the Poisk module of the Russian segment of the International Space Station.
