ASML Holding NV (ASML) said it had experienced unauthorized theft of proprietary technology-related data by a former employee based in China, but did not believe it had a material impact on its business.
The Dutch semiconductor equipment maker said in its annual report that it launched an internal review. The incident may have resulted in a violation of certain export controls, the company said.
ASML said it reported the incident to the relevant authorities.
“In light of this incident, we are implementing additional remedial measures,” the company said.
