In Japan, for the first time in 29 years, the launch of a launch vehicle ended in failure – the H3 rocket could not break away from the launch pad, RIA Novosti reports .
The live broadcast on the YouTube channel of the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) has been suspended, but the agency’s specialists reported that the main engine of the launch vehicle fired normally.
It is clarified that the accelerators did not start working at the scheduled time – the cause of the incident is being clarified, the launch has been postponed.
The H3 launch vehicle is a representative of a new generation of heavy class rockets, which are designed to deliver cargo from four to six and a half tons into space. Prior to this, the launch of the rocket was postponed several times due to unsuitable weather conditions.
Earlier in October 2022, the Japan Aerospace Agency (JAXA) decided to destroy the rocket with satellites after launch.
The reason lies in the fact that shortly after the launch, problems arose that prevented a normal flight.
