The most important things summarized:
- The Motorola Razr 2022 is a folding smartphone that comes with a special “desktop mode” – making it a kind of Chromebook/laptop replacement at the same time
- You can currently get the smartphone on offer at Proshop for 1,149 euros
- Below you will find a step-by-step guide and the best smartphones in the test
A powerful smartphone processor, an improved 50-megapixel camera, a larger battery and the practical “Ready-For” desktop mode: the Motorola Razr 2022 entered our CHIP test laboratory with these major changes.
The main screen, which folds in the middle when you close it, offers a proud 6.7-inch OLED display (2,400 x 1,800 pixels), as is usual with current flagships. When closed, the Motorola Razr 22 fits into any trouser, skirt or clothing pocket. All important notifications, the time, music player control, etc. can be read and selected on the 2.7-inch mini display.
With the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, Motorola installs a very powerful processor. This means that the Razr 2022 can also be used to play any current triple-A smartphone game. The “Ready For” desktop mode is also very exciting and practical. Because it allows the Motorola Razr 2022 to be connected to almost all external displays and televisions. For productive work like on a Chromebook, the smartphone can also be connected to a mouse and keyboard or a controller.
The dual camera setup comes with a 50-megapixel wide-angle sensor and a 13-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor. The front camera comes with a 32-megapixel sensor, whereby the better selfies can be snapped with the main camera. Thanks to the folding mechanism, the front display can be used as a viewfinder.
After just 8 hours and 7 minutes, the battery (3,500 mAh) is no longer fun. We carry out our demanding runtime test with the main display open to determine a comparison with classic smartphones.
