On the Day of Russian Science on February 8, the exhibition “Science in Faces” will open in GUM. Twenty-two young scientists will be the heroes of the exposition – winners of the Russian Presidential Prize in Science and Innovation for Young Scientists, winners of the competitions of the Presidential Program of the Russian Science Foundation (RSF), representatives of the Council for Science and Education under the President of the Russian Federation, participants in the program for the development of a personnel management reserve and meetings President with young scientists at the II Congress of Young Scientists – the key event of the first year of the Decade of Science and Technology.
The aim of the project is to emphasize the special role of science in Russia and the inestimable importance of each hero in shaping the future of the country.
The creative concept of the exhibition is built around the phrase “It’s fashionable to be a scientist!”, so the characters will appear as stars of fashion magazines. As befits the stars, the matter will not be limited to one formal and strict frame. A collage of several images has been prepared for each scientist. The main photographs will be complemented by “scientific still lifes” – they depict objects that tell about the professional activities of the characters. The portraits, united in one exposition, represent a collective image of a scientist: a person who is “at the forefront of science” and creates the future of Russia.
The author of the works of the exhibition “Science in Faces” photo artist Alexei Nikishin is a member of the International Union of Artists (IFA UNESCO) and the Creative Union of Artists of Russia and the Union of Photo Artists of Russia.
The exhibition “Science in Faces” will be held until February 28, 2023. It is included in the list of projects of the Decade of Science and Technology in Russia, organized by the Russian Society “Knowledge” and supported by the Coordinating Council for Youth Affairs in the Scientific and Educational Spheres of the Council for Science and Education under the President of the Russian Federation, GUM, ANO “National Priorities”, All-Russian the science festival NAUKA 0+ and the Bosco di Cillegi group of companies.
