Amada’s “World’s Largest Exhibition Facility” Equipped with Lab Rooms for Customers

On February 3, 2023, Amada opened the “Amada Global Innovation Center” (AGIC) at its headquarters in Isehara City, Kanagawa Prefecture. The existing “Solution Center” has been renovated to display 90 types of processing machines such as the latest bending machines and laser welding machines, and a dedicated space for customer companies to verify their technology.

AGIC, which has a total floor area of approximately 30,000m2 , is said to be the world’s largest exhibition facility. Hitoshi Isobe, President and Representative Director of the company, emphasized the significance of the new facility, saying, “We opened the facility to reaffirm the keyword of further strengthening technology orientation and developing together with our customers.”

The concept of AGIC is “a space where we co-create the future of metalworking with our customers.” It consists of spaces such as “Innovation LABO”, “Innovation SITE” and “Engineering FIELD”.

Innovation LABO is equipped with nine customer-dedicated laboratory rooms for various applications such as bending, punching, welding, and laser cutting, as well as a measurement room equipped with the latest measuring instruments. Customers can rent out the lab room for a certain period of time, from one to several days, try out new processing technologies and processing new materials using the equipment provided, and then use the equipment in the measurement room to verify the processing accuracy of those technologies. Each of the nine rooms is staffed by Amada’s technical staff, who also provide technical consultation.
