New plant species discovered in southwestern mountainous region of Hubei province

A research team led by Hu Guangwan of the Wuhan Botanical Garden of the Chinese Academy of Sciences recently published a new species of “Wuling accipitriformes” in the international botanical open access journal “Botanical Studies”. This genus was discovered in the Pingbaying National Forest Park, located in the Wuling Mountains of southwestern Hubei Province, and was first discovered and named by the same research team. It is also the only new species. The discovery of this new species demonstrates the environmental diversity and extremely high species diversity of the Wuling Mountains. At the same time, it has important significance for the formation and evolution of the same genus species in East Asia and the study of biogeography. Central Television News reported. (Editing YF)
