Roscosmos: the operation of the Russian segment of the ISS was recommended to be extended until 2028

PRIME. The chief designers of RSC Energia advised to extend the operation of the domestic segment of the International Space Station (ISS) until 2028, Roscosmos said.
The Council of Chief Designers (RSC Energia – ed.) recommended extending the life of the Russian segment of the ISS until 2028,” representatives of the state corporation wrote in the Telegram messenger.
They added that the decision would then be considered by the scientific and technical council of Roskosmos, after which it would prepare an appropriate appeal to the Russian government.
Earlier, the head of the state corporation, Yuri Borisov, reported to President Vladimir Putin about the decision to withdraw from the ISS project after 2024, later adding that the operation of the Russian segment of the station could last until 2028.
