Roskosmos announced the first launch of a Russian rocket in 2023
The launch of the Proton-M launch vehicle with the Electro-L weather satellite No. 4 was carried out in Baikonur , according to the state corporation Roscosmos, which broadcast the launch on its website .
To date, the Upper Stage with the Elektro-L satellite has separated from the third stage of the Proton rocket. The launch of the satellite into orbit by the upper stage DM-03 will last for several more hours.
It was the first Russian space launch in 2023. Two more launches from Baikonur are scheduled for February 9 and February 20, these days the Progress MS-22 cargo spacecraft and the unmanned Soyuz MS-23 manned spacecraft will be launched on Soyuz-2.1a rockets to the International Space Station.
Earlier, the state corporation showed a new Soyuz-2.1a rocket with the image of the Motherland monument, which was painted in honor of the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Battle of Stalingrad.
